This position will be located in Dulles, VA.This position requires experience in the production, assembly, and test of RF communications hardware. To be successful in this role, you should have experience in RF, FPGA, or digital circuit card and sub-assembly design, fabrication, and test.Job ResponsibilitiesIn this role you will:Use previous experience in mixed signal digital, analog or RF) printed circuit boards for both ground and space applicationsValidate RF, FPGA, or digital systems design requirementsHave cost, schedule, and technical responsibility for an RF Subsystem production and be able to develop integration and test plansBe responsible for and troubleshooting the mixed signal system, identifying the root cause of the failure, documenting the failure, and managing the completion of the required hardware reworkHave frequent interaction with the customer, as well as with the senior management team in the business groupProvide technical and supervisory leadership to a team of engineers throughout the production implementation phase of the hardwareTagsNGFeaturedJobs#LI-S-70Space SystemNoVASpaceDIVSEMMICBasic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (ideally a BSEE or related field) with some combination of the following course work: Digital signal processing, microwave theory, satellite communications, radio-wave propagation, electromagnetics, and antennas. Should possess good understanding of communications and microwave theory5 years of related experience (Or 3 years with a Masters; or a PhD)U.S. Citizenship with a current or active Top Secret level clearancePreferred Qualifications:TS/SCI security clearanceMSEE (or higher degree)Proficient with RF modeling tool, such as Genesys and/or Microwave, DSP tools such as Matlab, or other mixed signal simulation tools- Experience in selecting components, circuit design and layout of the following RF building - blocks:Up/down converters, mixersModulators/demodulators- Filters - OscillatorsPhased Lock LoopsUnderstanding of the following is highly desirable:FIR, IIR and frequency domain matched filtersFM, PM, AM, QAM, etc. modulators and demodulators including carrier recovery, where applicableFEC encoders, decoders of varying types including Viterbi, Reed Solomon, and Turbo codesSignal acquisition algorithms for TDMA, FDMA and CDMA schemesAlgorithms and model and optimize algorithm performance; MATLAB preferredThe Northrop Grumman Tactical Space Division is a strategic partner specializing in commercial and classified partnerships with the design, delivery, operation and sustainment of satellites and human spacecraft.
