Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.This Systems Engineer role is located in Dulles, VA, supporting our National Security Space Systems programs that include technical roles at the mission, segment, and component levels. They span the entire program life cycle from early concept studies, design development, system integration/test, launch and early operations, mission operations/sustainment, and system disposal. Programs range from small feasibility studies to medium-sized on-orbit technology demonstrations and large-scale national systems.The Embedded Systems Engineer will work with other systems engineers to determine component-level interactions and overall system design. The Embedded Systems Engineer will also provide inputs into system and software architecture for a ground-based service-oriented architecture intended to service next generation space capability.Responsibilities:Define and decompose features and stories (as per definition of ready and definition of done)Ensure software design meets acceptance criteria and software architectureIdentify the gaps/impacts/contact points between the user story/feature and the software architectureEnsure tests meet acceptance criteriaServe as the first line POC for system-related questions from developers#novaspaceBasic Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in STEM or related discipline + 5 years of experience or Master's Degree in STEM or related discipline + 3 years of experienceMust have US Citizenship with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearancePrevious systems engineering experienceExperience with software systems (though not necessarily as a programmer)Agile experience, including user story developmentPreferred Qualifications:Active or current TS/SCIBackground working in software systems engineeringKnowledge of Space to Ground and Mission ArchitectureUnderstanding of Agile software development practicesExperience with space/ground systemsSalary Range: 101200 - 151800Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
