Job Summary:
Westat is seeking an experienced part time nurse practitioner to conduct home-visit physical examinations as part of a research team studying human aging. Research is being conducted throughout the United States but mainly in the Baltimore Metro area. This position is for up to 3-4 days per week/approximately and 32 hours per week.

Job Responsibilities:
•    Part of a two-person team traveling regularly both locally in Baltimore and out-of-state. 
•    Conducting general physical examinations (including EKG), medical histories, and tests of physical/functional performance, and collecting blood and other biological specimens from mobility-disabled adults.
•    Reviewing and following up alert values from the exam, EKG, or diagnostic lab results, and, in coordination with the physician advisor, communicating by phone or in person with the participants regarding these results.
•    Maintaining selected field supplies and equipment, including a laptop, portable EKG machine, portable centrifuge, and specimen collection and shipping materials, in coordination with the home office staff.
•    Attending monthly meetings and presentations held by the client in Baltimore, and reporting on field activities.

Basic Qualifications:
•    A master's degree in Nursing with at least 5 years of relevant experience as a nurse practitioner is required.  
•    Candidates must currently be licensed in Maryland.

Minimum Qualifications:
•    Candidates must have transportation and be willing to use their own car for local visits. 
•    Qualified candidates will work independently and possess strong organizational, time-management, interpersonal, and oral communication skills. 
•    Be able to lift and carry up to 45 pounds of equipment and material.

Preferred Qualifications:
•    Experience working in diverse communities in Baltimore. 
•    Have experience in community engaged research.
