The American Association of Immunologists (AAI) is a professional biomedical research association representing scientists worldwide who are engaged in the field of basic and clinical immunology research. AAI seeks an experienced and creative individual for the position of Content Manager. The Content Manager will work with the Director of Communications and key AAI staff to develop, review, edit, and produce materials needed for member communications and the promotion of AAI mission, programs, and publications. The Content Manager will ensure compelling content, consistent quality, and timely release.

 

This position requires experience with writing, content development, strong editing skills, production, and management of professional publications (magazines/newsletters, messages to members/customers, use of social media messaging and campaigns). Successful candidates must have experience with RFP development and contractor selection, mail houses, designers, and securing and working with freelance writers, graphic designers, and copyeditors.

 

A Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field, and at least 5 years’ experience in the development of content and start-to-finish production of a society magazine or equivalent required. Presentation of a portfolio of publications, original content, and other marketing/ promotional materials required in application (links acceptable.)

 

 

 

The position reports to the Director of Communications and works closely with staff and contractors. This is a full-time (37.5 hours/week), exempt position.

            Location

AAI executive headquarters are located in Rockville, Maryland. Office has free parking, is in walking distance to the Twinbrook Metro, and is on major bus lines. AAI staff is currently working remotely but when the office reopens, on-site work will be required. To work in person, employees must provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (per CDC Guidelines) and agree to other recommended public health measures such as wearing appropriate masks.
