Duties

  • You will identify lessons learned that should be mitigated as a risk on the current availability and submit these through the knowledge management system.
  • You will maintain a working relationship with other project Risk Managers at NNSY and other shipyards.
  • You will develop and implement a risk strategy for each assigned maintenance availability to include the details associated with the methods and data sources to be used in the risk management process.
  • You will develop risk information sheets and risk statements.
  • You will deliver a comprehensive and continual risk assessment, conclusions, and recommendations to assigned project leadership.

  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.


Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

Experience with providing assessment and risk handling strategies from the initial planning stage through execution of all maintenance work and ending at the delivery of the ship/submarine;

Experience with naval ship overhaul processes including production, planning, engineering, and scheduling Experience with quantitative analysis and the evaluative methods and techniques for assessing risk, risk management processes, reporting, and metrics collection;

Experience with maintaining risk management database and develops and submits risk management reports to support project, organizational, and customer meetings and communications;

Experience with identifying, assessing, and offering comprehensive solutions to complex risk management issues related to cost, schedule, technical/quality, and environmental/safety performance indicators.
