Duties

  • Performs routine and recurring assignments related to the Personnel Security Program.
  • Performs routine and recurring assignments related to the Information Security Program.
  • Facilitates and/or conducts security training.
  • Performs routine and recurring assignments related to the Industrial Security Program.
  • Maintains files; prepares correspondence; and reviews a variety of Security documents for completeness and compliance.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance based on a T5 investigation/Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Pursuant to EO 14043, all Federal employees, regardless of duty location or work arrangement, must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 before entrance on duty, subject to exceptions as required by law.
  • If selected, the agency will provide information regarding what documentation is needed and how to request any legally required exceptions from this requirement.

  • May require Temporary Duty (TDY) travel up to 20% of the time.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.
Specialized Experience which includes:
  • Performing clerical and assistant tasks in support of multiple security disciplines, resolving recurring security issues. AND
  • Experience using Microsoft programs and personnel security databases. AND
  • Experience in researching security policies/procedures and safeguarding classified information.
  • This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/ GS-06).
