Doing what is right for the Warfighter is reflected in everything we do. We have an opportunity for Senior Mission Systems Engineer to join our NAS Patuxent River, MD team. This position will provide support primarily to the E-6B and IPT lead engineers in support of development, acquisition, modernization, and sustainment efforts. Due to the nature of the work involved this position is not eligible for telework. Responsibilities of the Senior Mission Systems Engineer include:Supporting requirements generation, performing engineering design trade studies, drafting engineering documentation and artifacts, and assisting in the development of mission systems architecture solutions.Coordinating with NAWCWOLF and PMA IPTs in the development, production, and installation of the Block 2 modifications.Supporting the integration, validation, and verification of E-6B Nuclear Command, Control and Communications (NC3) Looking Glass mission systems.Partnering with the engineering team in the development of a robust, cyber-resilient, multi-level platform.Preparing Engineering, Manufacturing and Development (EMD) SOW and engineering artifacts for the Mission Systems Integration portion of the platform acquisition.Reviewing and/or developing requirements definition, analysis, verification, and architecture design.Reviewing and monitoring the development of relevant engineering documentation and artifacts.Participating in Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) events and PMRs.Performing functional analysis, timeline analysis, and detailed trade studies to translate Customer requirements into solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule cost and exportability constraints.Presenting pertinent information to stakeholders within the NAVAIR program office environment.. Requirements: Education, Skills and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline from an ABET accredited institution is required.Ten (10) years of related systems engineering experience.At least five (5) years of experience working within the NAVAIR environment is preferred. Experience working with Pre-MS B and EMD efforts.Experience using Model Based Systems Engineering Tools.Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both verbally and in writing. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.Ability to organize and prioritize tasks.Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.Ability to work on projects with limited supervision.Position will require 25-40% travel and flexibility in working hours.Security Clearance Requirements: This position requires US citizenship and an active DoD Top Secret clearance.
