To perform tasks involving physical labor at a variety of the company construction sites. To assist with concrete/construction trades in any setting in a manner that ensures maximum efficiency within cost and safety standards. Requirements Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor. Maintain a clean job site: pick up all tools and equipment and secure job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards. Load and unload trucks and haul and hoist materials. Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Bring problems to the attention of the Foreman, Supervisor or HR Manager. Enforce all OSHA rules, MAC Safety Standards, and local policies/procedures to provide a safe working environment. Must recognize unsafe conditions and behaviors and make corrections to prevent injuries and property loss. Notify Supervisor or appropriate Manager of any personnel issues as needed to ensure harmony amongst workers Spread, level, and smooth concrete, using rake, shovel, hand or power trowel, hand or power screed, and float Smooth out concrete in segments to ensure the concrete poured is level Pour sand in as filler Other duties as assigned. Essential skills and experience: Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies Knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely Ability to lift heavy objects and load/unload trucks Must be able to comply with safety, quality and technical protocols Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to work with others of diverse backgrounds and levels of authority Valued but not required skills and experience: OSHA 10 certification preferred, at a minimum Comfortable working in a team environment Ability to drive/operate heavy construction equipment is a plus Reporting to this position: N/A Physical Demands: The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Physical demands: While performing the duties of job, employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; drive; use hands to finger(s), handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; type/use computer and phone. Employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Work environment: May be exposed to uncomfortable or distracting sounds or noise levels on sites as well as wet and/or humid conditions, construction debris, dust, construction material fumes and odors, moving mechanical parts, high and underground precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, all weather condition to include extreme cold and extreme heat; must work outside in varying weather/driving conditions combined with regular work time indoors.
