Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture. Conducts cost/benefit analysis and provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. Conducts testing of network design. Responsible for monitoring network hardware operations to ensure properly set configuration options. Plans implementation of enhancements and upgrades to the network. Advises network users of hardware requirements, configurations, and limitations. Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc. Evaluates and reports on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network. May be assigned responsibility for the management of the systems administration function, including associated staff.The senior IT consultant manages the project work as defined by the government, including but not limited toLeading medium to large complex projects and major phases of very large projectsProviding highly technical and specialized guidance and solutions to complex IT problemsManaging the fact-finding, analysis and development of hypothesis/conclusions, production of final reports and delivery of presentationsPerforming as a consultant in highly specialized, leading edge information technologies and methodologiesQualificationsRequires 16+ years with BS/BA or 14+ years with MS/MA or 10+ years with Ph.D.Basic Qualifications:The candidate must have either: High School Diploma and fifteen (15) years experience in relevant experience; or Bachelors Degree or higher and ten (10) years experienceMust have Security+, CASP, or CISSPPython scripting experienceTransitioning of firewall rule-set between vendorsSidewinder and Control Center experiencePalo Alto Firewalls and Panorama experienceFor Colorado ResidentsColorado Salary Minimum: $117,291.20Colorado Salary Maximum:$250,723.20The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position, and is just one component of Peraton's total compensation package for employees.
