The Litigation and Administrative Practice Group in the OGC provides legal and policy advice to the Commission and the SEC's divisions and offices on a wide range of legal matters related to privileges, professional responsibility, procurement, appropriations, intellectual property, employment law, and labor relations. The Group also defends the Commission in litigation related to its official functions and investigates matters involving attorney misconduct.This position serves as a General Attorney in the Litigation and Administrative Practice Group. The incumbent is responsible for defending the Commission in litigation related to its official functions and providing advice and representing the agency on matters affecting the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), the Privacy Act, privileges, records management, and related matters.Typical duties of this position are:Representing the Commission in litigation brought against the Commission including actions relating to the FOIA, tort claims, Constitutional claims, and related matters.Conducting legal research, preparing memoranda, and advising the Commission and its offices, divisions, and staff on matters related to e-discovery, privileges, the FOIA, the Privacy Act, records management, and related matters.Advising on and responding to subpoenas issued to the Commission and its staff for testimony and production of documents.CITIZENSHIP: This position is open to US Citizens.You must possess a JD or LL.B DegreeYou must be an active member of the bar in good standing
