Professional nursing practices, requiring specialized knowledge, judgment, and skill are performed in accordance Bayhealth policies, After competency verification, the ED Technician III may deliver patient care services to the neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations. The care may include, but is not limited to, the following: obtaining and recording in the EHR, blood pressure, pulse, temperature and pulse oximetry, drawing blood, EKG, administration of PO medications, transporting patients, obtain urine and stool specimens, perform point of care testing, assist with ED procedures consistent with the scope of the employees position, measure and assist in applying sling, cervical collar, splints and crutches, bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, ambulating, transferring, feeding, observing, and reporting the general well-being of the person(s) to whom they are providing care.
