GEICO is looking for someone who is wanting to jump start their career in Systems Engineering!This exciting opportunity is for an aspiring Systems Engineer to join our team. CSS owns the Workday SaaS environment for GEICO, the GEICO Licensing System (GLS), as well PeopleSoft HR and Finance, and other HR systems. The team is responsible for maintaining security for Workday, support of Finance technical infrastructure, and driving the migration of systems to .NET and the Azure cloud. The successful candidate will play an integral role in a wide range of DevOps platforms (both on-prem and cloud). This includes having experience with Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) applications and cloud-based technologies. Tasks performed include configuration and maintenance of Windows and Linux servers, overseeing projects to migrate on-prem systems to a cloud framework, and driving the adoption of microservices. This requires the willingness and ability to quickly grasp enterprise infrastructures/operations and the ability to use these skills to develop best in class solutions for our business partners. Familiarity with core programming languages such as JavaScript, C#, PowerShell, and Web API's and a willingness to dive even deeper is ideal. The preferred candidate will also be self-motivated, willing to learn new skills and adopt new techniques, and driven to consistently deliver outstanding customer support. Through GEICO's competitive benefits offerings and various training and development opportunities, we have you covered with our Total Rewards Program* that includes:Premier Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with no waiting period**Paid Vacation, Sick and Parental Leave401(k) Plan with Profit SharingTuition ReimbursementPaid Training and LicensuresCandidate Required Qualifications:Experience supporting systems from an infrastructure, code, database, and security concept perspective.Demonstrate solid understanding of problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills at a system design level.DevOps experience deploying/migrating to cloud environments (Azure, Oracle, Soft Layer, AWS, Google, and vendor clouds).Experience with application servers experience administering Windows Server 2012R2 and later.Knowledge of applying concepts related to IP Address Management, Firewalls, Certificates, Load Balancing and Security compliance principles.Knowledge of supporting Active Directory, ADFS, SSO, and Windows Authentication solutions.SaaS application experience, preferably Workday, help fill the need of providing in-depth analysis for supporting our customers.IT operations knowledge such as managing SSL certificates, configuring single sign-on (SSO), etc.Application development and script automation experience (such as PowerShell)Working in the capacity of cloud management and production support in a large, enterprise environment to include experience designing architecture for cloud platforms such as Azure.Working on relational Databases using SQL server along with writing of complex database queries, stored procedures and triggers using T/SQL.Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with business executives, technical teams, and end-users.Core Responsibilities:Analyze, develop, and execute plans to migrate eligible applications from on-prem to a cloud infrastructure, and help guide applications designs to meet performance, scalability, and reusability requirements.Examine code and configurations to device performance improvements.Implement proactive monitoring and redundancy at all tiers to aggressively improve system availability and up-times.Configure Windows/Linux servers, troubleshoot issues, and recommend system improvements.Work with Finance, HR, and Technology leadership to develop and execute solutions.Troubleshoot and resolve deployment/configuration/set up issues and work with appropriate teams to drive solutions. This includes participating in our team's on-call rotation which may require providing off-hours and overnight support for our customers.Participate in rotating on-call duties to support the high availability and stability of our systems and provide after-hours support.Total Rewards Program benefits may vary by location and circumstances.
