Firm Advice is conducting a search on behalf of a global biometrics and identity security technology company for a business-savvy Director, Federal Contracts to lead its Federal Government Legal team. This position will support Company's North America operations across business lines, requiring agility and creative thinking to further all aspects of their cutting-edge government business and contracts function. Ideal candidates will be solution-oriented and excel at delivering high quality, actionable, and timely legal advice. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES. Lead attorney for federal government contracting across all business lines.. Review, draft and negotiate full range of contracts and bid-related documents, including RFPs and RFIs, FOIA requests, bonds and insurance requirements, teaming agreements, license agreements, distribution and supply agreements, and subcontracts with "flow down" terms.. Coordinate with internal stakeholders to support Company's evolving contract function modifying scope, responsibilities, and scale, as necessary.. Provide functional oversight for contract professionals, including hiring, mentoring, and training.. Serve as legal escalation point of contact on federal government contracts for Business, Finance, Legal, and Contracts teams.. Support resolution of contract disputes.. Oversight of outside counsel on government bid protests and other relevant matters.. Train employees at all levels on critical topics relevant to state and local business.. Support compliance efforts and programs. REQUIREMENTS. BS / JD preferred.. 8 plus years' federal government contracts experience in a top-tier law firm or dynamic in-house legal department.. Ability to provide top-tier, proactive, and effective legal support in a fast-moving environment with minimal supervision.. Exceptional legal and business judgment, superior analytic, communication and problem-solving skills.. Experience effectively and efficiently managing outside legal resources, with budget accountability.. Experience managing professionals at multiple experience levels.
