Linux Operations Manager or Lead Linux RHEL Systems Administrator or Project Manager 100% - REMOTE Department:Technology ServicesLocation:Washington, DCWashington, DC (Remote Option)Background:We are currently seeking an Operations Manager to join a growing team on an exciting and highly visible project for a US Treasury customer.The Operations Manager will be responsible and lead the day-to-day operational execution of IT infrastructure services supporting the customer. Candidate must have knowledge and hands-on experiences to manage activities, tasks, and performance across day-to-day IT operational efforts, and work in close collaboration with the customer.As the IT Operations Manager you will be leading a team of DBAs and System Administrators who perform Tier II and Tier III support for numerous COTS and proprietary systems and applications. Additionally, the operations team is also responsible for O&M activities including security patching, software update, and application deployment support.The ideal candidate for this position manages the operations and all necessary aspects of maintaining the infrastructure and has a strong knowledge and experience of servers, virtualization, networking, storage. They are also an expert in managing engineering and operations projects. The individual will serve as the central point of contact to interface with customer management and other officials relative to IT infrastructure operations.Required Qualifications:Public Trust ClearanceMust be willing to work 7:00am - 4:00pm (Eastern) plus nights/weekend for system outages, patching/upgrades, and other necessary support as neededExp with RHEL5+ years of experience supervising or leading IT operation teams or projectsDemonstrated experience relative to oral and written communications with all levels of management for planning and control of operations and projectsExperience leading large-scale IT solutions for federal government, including Data Center operations, hardware, and softwareDemonstrated ability to generate and communicate a variety of metrics and reports effectively with the highest levels of managementDemonstrated experience with managing performance metric contracts that must conform to SLAsPerform data analysis on metrics from Jira and other related applicationsExperience with fast paced Gov IT environment with multiple high prioritiesExperience managing Tier II & Tier III help desk teams for federal governmentResponsibilities:Responsible for lead and manage all aspects of IT infrastructure operationsProactively research and recommend courses of action to prevent problems and to maintain high infrastructure service levelsUtilize ticket metrics and key performance indicators for driving the performance of IT service deliveryUsing metrics, identify current trends in resource time allotment to help recognize potential solutions to resolve recurring issues that have a negative impact on production and utilization effortsMaintain customer satisfaction and meet SLAsWork with team to perform root cause analysis on issues, examine solutions, and communicate to customerMeet regularly with customers, ensure compliance with customer requirements and scope, and address performance concerns expeditiouslyEducation: Bachelor's DegreeYears of Experience: 5+ years of experience or more in IT operations (eg Sysadmin, DBA, Networking)Clearance: Must be a United States Citizen and hold an active Public Trust (or higher) security clearance.Our benefits include:Health & Dental Insurance 100% of individual coverage paid for by the companyLife & Short Term Disability Insurance401K with company match (employees are immediately vested)Paid Vacation8 Paid Holidays per year (plus 2 paid floating holidays)Maternity and Paternity LeaveEmployee bonusesProfessional Development reimbursement programTuition Assistance Program We are an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
