Spencer Ogden is seeking a Project Manager with a background in the chemical industry to join a leading chemical manufacturer out of Maryland.The Project Manager is an integral part of managing and leading capital construction projects with direct involvement and daily oversight to ensure the safe execution and completion of assigned projects by using demonstrated project management skillsets combined with site chemical process and layout knowledge.Key ResponsibilitiesManages and leads capital projects for the plant.Provides role model leadership for safety culture and behavior on capital projects.Works with the plant team to utilize the project execution work process consistently.Works with the corporate procurement group to get best price, quality, & timing on capital purchases and contract services. This includes writing complete scopes of work and other contract documents.Lead for project engineering design (basic & detail engineering design) including the external contractors (CDI), be responsible for the quality and time-line of engineering deliverables.Leads and facilitates all phases of the capital process including field execution.Develops monthly forecasting techniques to consistently spend capital based on execution plans.Manage project in the SAP for the project application, order requisition, expenditure control and etc.Works with project teams to develop good cost estimates for capital projects.Develops project schedules and manages/adjusts them to meet established timelines.Required SkillsEffective Communications Skills (verbally, written, presentation).Collaborates effectively with plant engineering, maintenance, and leadership.Ability and initiative to rapidly acquire knowledge of the site including chemical processes and physical layout.Must have 10+ years of project management experience in chemical industry or engineering company (engineering for chemical companies/chemical plants).Must have 3+ years of working experience as a project manager for capital investment projects in chemical industryPMP certification preferred.While using normal hearing and visual acuity have the ability to:Lift up to 20 poundsFrequently use fine motor skills for keyboarding, writing and other similar activitiesWork from heights and do daily climbing of stairs and laddersWalk up to two (2) miles between plant work areasWork in inclement outdoor weather conditions, including hot, cold, etc.Qualified Candidates must possess a Bachelor degree or above in chemical/process or mechanical engineering.).
