Principal Associate, Market Research -- Brand

Capital One is seeking a Principal Associate Market Researcher to join our Enterprise Brand Insights team. In this role you will have the opportunity to provide consumer insights that inform marketing, advertising, and brand building strategies for the company. Responsibilities may include primary market research to inform go to market strategies, creative testing, and brand health tracking. The ideal candidate will have proven experience managing primary research and applied insights to drive business outcomes of key strategic initiatives.

What you'll do
  • Leverage the depth and breadth of your knowledge and expertise in primary and secondary research to help Capital One conduct research designed to inform business and marketing strategies
  • Contribute to the design and execution of market research projects, including deciding on appropriate research methodologies, assessing pricing and feasibility, designing questionnaires, conducting analyses, reports creation, and presenting insights
  • Partner with business, media, advertising and marketing teams to identify knowledge gaps and translate business objectives into the development and management of a powerful research agenda that will guide strategy
  • Travel within North America, often between McLean and Richmond, Virginia, for meetings and presentations once travel resumes (up to 10% of time).
  • Present brand and marketing insights to internal clients and leaders, influencing others through storytelling and impactful insights that drive discussion and business action
  • Periodically perform data pulls and ad-hoc analyses to inform key business decisions
  • Contribute and continually update your knowledge of evidence-based marketing to refine Capital One's brand strategy and measurement approaches

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience.
  • At least 4 years of experience in a market research role


Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least 6 years of experience in a research role
  • Experience working on or leading brand health studies and/or long-term research projects focused on marketing communications and business results, ideally in the financial services industry
  • Subject matter expertise in B2B and B2C technology
  • At least 2 years of experience in a primary market research role managing an on-going tracking study
  • At least 2 years of experience working with analytical tools such as Python, R, SAS, SPSS, SQL or similar relational database tools
  • At least 3 years in a "client" facing consultative role (supplier or internal)
  • At least 2 years of experience at a Fortune 500 company or a company well-known for the marketing and market research disciplines
  • Basic knowledge of database management systems
