Full Time

  • You will maintain financial data for use in the development of reports.
  • You will compile information from multiple sources to create financial management or budget reports.
  • You will collaborate with financial personnel in other organizations to discuss requirements and provide information.
  • You will analyze data for various financial reports (e.g., budget formulation, budget execution, accounting, audit readiness).
  • You will review financial data (e.g., accounting data, system summaries) to verify account balances meet project objectives.
  • You will interpret financial statutes, agency regulations, and financial management regulations to provide guidance concerning accounting, budget, and financial actions.
  • You will maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with accounting and financial regulations.
  • You will utilize computer programs such as (excel, word, powerpoint)

  • This is a Financial Management Level 1 certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.


Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
  • Researching and applying fiscal policies, precedents, procedures, and regulations to identify, analyze, and resolve a range of budgetary issues within the command.
  • Extracting and utilizing data from administrative and financial management systems such as Command Financial Management System, Standard Accounting and Budget Reporting System, and other like systems to support command functions.
  • Researching and correcting accounting abnormalities to ensure funds are provided to the appropriate accounts and fund holders.
  • Adhering to Financial Improvement and Audit Remediation (FIAR) guidance and reporting requirements.

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
