Duties

Safety and Code Compliance Aide: This is an announcement for students who are seeking or pursuing an Occupational Safety and Health degree or a degree in a similar field. The Aide assists the Safety and Occupational Health Specialists in tracking and evaluating progress towards improved workplace health and safety at the AOC by analyzing injury incident and close call data and statistics. The Aide will also assist various division staff members with planning and organizing work, and support content development for intranet pages. Additionally, the Aide will assist in developing presentations for a wide variety of audiences and assist with the legislative efforts of the team to cover various topics in the fields of safety, environmental, fire protection and prevention, code and regulatory compliance.

To be eligible, you must be a current student who meets the following requirements:

Applications will be accepted from students who are at least sixteen (16) years of age by June 30, 2022 AND currently attending a college or university.

Note: Participation in the Summer Intern Employment Program is limited to a total of three years. Candidates are eligible to participate no more than three years, collectively or consecutively, in the Summer Intern Employment Program. Candidates who have reached the three years in the program will be deemed ineligible to participate this calendar year.

This is an Excepted Service Position in the Architect of the Capitol, a Legislative Branch agency of the Federal government. The position does not require or confer civil service Competitive Status.
