Summary About the Position: Serves as a Emergency Communication Dispatcher for the Directorate of Emergency Services for Fort Meade Police Services, Fire Services and Emergency Medical Services Divisions , Providing around the clock 24/7 emergency police, fire, guard and medical services to the public by answering emergency 911 calls, and dispatches appropriate personnel and equipment. Maintains an accurate status of emergency response equipment and personnel to assure prompt and accurate response. Monitors and logs status and availability of police, fire and medical field units to assure an appropriate response is made using a Computer Automated Dispatching System (CADS). Prioritizes all incoming emergency and non-emergency calls. Identifies the nature of emergency, level of response required, and provides this and any additional information to the responding units.
