So, we ask, where will your journey take you?JOB SUMMARYThe Manager, Loyalty Accounting and Reporting will have responsibility for a wide range of financial reporting activities for the Global Marriott Gift Cards and Loyalty (Marriott Bonvoy) programs. Supporting ongoing financial health and stability and enabling the achievement of the Programs' financial goals and objectives. The Manager will interact with the Finance Business Partners for Consumer Operation (FBP-CO) team, Loyalty/Gift Card business leaders, Global Technology, Financial Reporting & Analysis, Tax, Legal, Financial Contract Compliance, and Accounting Policy Group to support the ongoing fiscal needs and responsibilities of the Programs'. The position reports to the Senior Manager, Loyalty Accounting & Reporting,The Manager will serve as a subject matter expert on financial/accounting matters related to the Programs. This role will calculate, record and accurately report the Programs' revenues and expenses in accordance with GAAP. The Manager will contribute to the monthly close and forecast of the Programs' GAAP financial statements which includes the Revenue Recognition model, financial statement generation and analysis, the Budget and annual Long Range Plan forecast.The Manager will support multiple audits including SOX compliance and the MI corporate audit. This role will facilitate the maintenance, execution, and documentation of key controls related to loyalty and gift card financial reporting. The Manager will complete reporting for the Global Gift Card program including cash flow actuals and forecast. Additionally, to help evaluate the program health, the Manager will calculate and report the Global Gift Card fund balance which includes regular monitoring and estimating of the gift card Ultimate Redemption Rate. The Manager will compile, analyze, and translate data into actionable financial information in support of the program's financial objectives for business leaders.In support of overall department objectives, this role will assist in the enhancement of systems and processes that support key objectives to achieve the goals of the programs for Marriott and add value. The Manager will therefore be adept at tapping diverse sources of information, identifying opportunities, anticipating challenges, and executing strategies to deliver against this objective.EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONSComplete portions of the Revenue Recognition model and monthly close process to calculate Bonvoy and Gift Card Revenue and Expense for company financial statements, record revenue and expense to the ledger, and provide variance analysis and reporting to the Financial Reporting and Financial Contract Compliance teams.Prepare the quarterly and long-range plan GAAP forecasts including the calculation and analysis of the financial forecast for the Gift Card Program.Support the integrity and accuracy of data and reports produced, through the systemic monitoring of key performance measures and the auditing of key reports. Identify unusual financial and process performance trends and investigate and resolve any problems and/or inconsistencies as appropriate.Serve as a subject matter expert on accounting matters related to the Loyalty and Gift Card Programs, including having a strong working knowledge of the Programs' structure and an ability to identify the accounting implications and impact to Marriott financial statements resulting from program changes and trends.Perform ad-hoc financial analysis as required by FBP-CO leadership, or other key stakeholders in response to requests to evaluate accounting changes, proposed program enhancements, tax matters or other areas of concern.Contribute to the quarterly Financial Reporting Package, providing management and external auditors with actual results compared to various measures such as prior years, budget, and prior forecast. Provide meaningful analysis and assurance that balances are reported according to GAAP.Review and certify owned Balance Sheet accounts to support the Company's quarterly Account Reconciliation policy (MIP-66).Maintain effective internal control processes for the reporting of the Programs on MI Financial Statements and proactively identify and address financial statement risks.Prepare and/or present financial updates as required for Marriott financial reporting and planning processes.Establish and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with program team and other key stakeholders to understand the business, ensure timely exchange of actionable financial information and customer satisfaction.Champion excellence in business ethics and integrity, social responsibility, cross-cultural effectiveness, and associate engagement.Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs.CANDIDATE PROFILEKey Talents and ExperienceMinimum 5 years of accounting and/or finance experience in a global organization with increasing responsibility including complex accounting, data analysis, process management and financial modeling.Knowledge and experience with financial management tools (particularly Excel, Peoplesoft, and SmartView), methodologies, governance frameworks and processes; ability to drive process improvements and implement best practices.Excellent modeling skills, including the ability to design and develop complex revenue recognition calculations with strong controls and flexibility for an expanding business.Experience in Marriott business, processes, and systems preferred. Knowledge of Marriott specific accounting and finance processes and reporting systems a plus.Strong data analytics skills; Tableau and/or PowerBI experience preferred.Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, policies, and controls.History of consistently delivering business results.Strong interpersonal skills.
