Discover more about us at .Summary:Under the general supervision of the Supervisor of Pharmacy Prior Authorization Technicians, the Pharmacy Services Technician I assists in the prior authorization process.Responsibilities:Review and approve physician inquiries for pre-authorization and medical necessity requests based on established pharmacy guidelines and contract criteriaSupport Fraud and Abuse program system oversight by reviewing medication utilization records; communicate any suspected fraud discovered. Recommend course of action for Providers where patterns appear outside of guidelines and generally accepted pharmacy standards.Keep abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes in the pharmacy industry and incorporates knowledge in the performance of job duties. Identify problems in process/procedures or services and makes recommendations for improvements. Maintain a balance of productivity, quality and timeliness of job accountabilities. Participate in department self-audit procedures for on-going evaluation of service.Maintain and updates internal databases. Enter application information, prior authorizations and other relevant data. Ensure database information and appended files are current and accessible to staff. Generate reports and other information requested on a scheduled/as needed basis.Create and support an environment which fosters teamwork, cooperation, respect and diversityEstablish and maintain positive communication and professional demeanor with internal and external business partners at all times.Perform other related duties as assignedAttend required training on an annual basisAdhere to AMFC policies and procedures Education/Experience:High School Diploma or equivalent requiredActive/current National Pharmacy Technician Certification (ExCPT, NCCT or PTCB) requiredCurrent/recent Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM), managed care, hospital pharmacy, long-term care (LTC) pharmacy, home infusion pharmacy, and/or retail pharmacy experience preferredKnowledge of pharmacy practices, procedures and precedents, to include the ability to read and understand pharmaceutical informationWorking knowledge of drug dosage forms, drug strength, generic & trade name equivalentDemonstrate knowledge of Federal & State laws/regulations regarding provisions of pharmaceutical servicesAbility to multi-task and prioritize workAbility to comprehend and follow established office routines, policies and proceduresAbility to adjust based on business/department needsDemonstrated courteous and professional behaviorStrong communication (listening, verbal and written), customer service and interpersonal skillsProficient PC skills in a windows based environmentBack ShareApply Now
