Job Description
The Business Intelligence Supervisor will lead a team that gathers data and presents intelligent analysis of Zeus Technologies business strategies, an ad tech startup within the Washington Post. This role will primarily focus on working closely with Senior Management to ensure that they have the most accurate and up-to-date data to make sound business decisions. The right candidate will be able to manage and coordinate a high volume of complex inventory and financial data and translate them into detailed reports, meaningful analysis and sound recommendations. The Business Intelligence Supervisor reports to the Vice President, Programmatic Strategy and Yield, but often takes direction from other Senior Management members and works in collaboration with all parts of the Washington Post organization.

Responsibilities
- Work with senior management to develop a data strategy for the Washington Post
- Hire, develop and manage a team of 1-2 analysts
- Structure the workload of the business intelligence team
- Interact with and present data findings to Senior Management
- Recommend solutions to reduce or eliminate issues and increase profitability
- Participate in strategy decisions and advise about company goals, plans, and results
- Ensure data is being correctly gathered, stored, and analyzed
- Build and maintain a roadmap that democratizes access to data throughout the organization
- Be creative in approaches to solving problems and managing data. Ideal candidate will look for opportunities to improve current reporting processes as well as implement new processes when necessary.
- Assist Sales, Finance, Operations, and Marketing departments with various ad-hoc reports involving impression data (Google DFP), pageview data (Omniture), and revenue data (Operative/Finance reports).
- Build and distribute reporting templates/models for various departments to improve efficiency
- Manage data ingestion and data integrity in Domo, our business intelligence tool
- Meet with clients to negotiate and establish baseline site and advertising KPIs as part of launching Zeus Technologies
Minimum Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, or other related area
- 4+ years of relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel including macros and pivot tables
- Strong quantitative and analysis skills
- SQL experience required
- Self motivator with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills necessary, with strong presentation skills a plus
- Capable of working proactively with multiple departments to achieve results
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Online Advertising, Google Ad Manager and Operative a plus
- Experience with Domo a plus
