Duties

  • Use an automated systems to upload forms and documents into an electronic personnel folder.
  • Retrieves data from various information sources to answer questions, respond to correspondence, make decisions, and prepare reports or briefings.
  • Examines information in records, documents, and database systems to insure conformity with regulations and guidance.
  • Composes and types correspondence into final form which requires reference to regulations, related correspondence, precedents, and guides pertinent to the area of military personnel administration.
  • Receives and ensures proper disposition of personnel, medical, dental, and education records
  • Assists these individuals in interpreting regulatory procedures and policies affecting the issuance of cards
  • Use electronic systems and ink processes to retrieve, print or forward digital fingerprints and submit investigation requests
  • Interpret and apply rules, regulations, procedures and precedents relating to obtaining fingerprints and transactions processed and data entry/retrieval systems used.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.

To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing administrative support functions associated with personnel actions which includes in and out processing, assignments, separations, promotions, and/or awards. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

  • Personnel and Human Resources


Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).

Separated Military Members: Resumes will be accepted from members of the Armed Forces who indicate in their applications that they are available for appointment within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. Military members may be appointed while on terminal/transitional leave, before the effective date of their military retirement/separation.

Education
