Duties

  • Oversees the activities of the INSCOM IAP managed and administered by the INSCOM IAPM and Information System Security Managers to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information technology (IT) information systems.
  • Supervises multi-disciplinary civilian, military, and government contractor professionals employing various skills and other experiences to identify IA security threats and vulnerabilities to information systems.
  • Oversees the management of all budget and contract requirements for the ACofS, G-6, Cyber Security Division through the IAPM, validating and coordinating across the IA/Cyber Security staff as well as with higher level personnel.
  • Responsible for monitoring the activities of IA/cybersecurity, funding, information assurance/technology solutions GISA-wide, in a wide variety of disciplines.

  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI) on a pre-appointment and periodic basis.
  • Pursuant to EO 14043, all Federal employees, regardless of duty location or work arrangement, must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 before entrance on duty, subject to exceptions as required by law.
  • If selected, the agency will provide information regarding what documentation is needed and how to request any legally required exceptions from this requirement.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for access to sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
  • TDY Travel may be required approximately 15% or more of the time.
  • May be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management.
  • This position is eligible for certification IAW DoD 8570-01-M, 12/19/05.

In order to qualify, you must meet the requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience ensuring Information Assurance (IA) compliance across an organization, providing IA assistance to customers, and developing solutions to IA system problems.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level in the Federal service (GG/GS-14).

In addition to the specialized experience listed above, your resume must show you have Information Technology-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies as defined:

1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attention to detail.

2) Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.

4) Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
