Capital Choice Pathology Lab seeks to hire an experienced Pathology Support Tech who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.

As a Pathology Support Technician you will:
1. Phone Coverage: receive all incoming calls and direct to appropriate person, take supply orders and specimen pick up requests, update document will-call log.
2. Fax patient reports to physicians/clients (receive confirmation from CoPath; record verbal confirmation from physician's office).
3. Retrieve slides/blocks; send via interoffice mail, if requested.
4. Scan lab request forms into Document Imaging system.
5. Assign cases to Pathologists; Distribute slides to Pathologists.
6. Perform quality checks on automatic report printouts, Cytology and Surgical Pathology Report runs.
7. Data Entry: Accession cytology and surgical pathology cases into CoPath.
8. Troubleshoot issues with specimens, lab requests, and tests ordered, including making phone calls and sending faxes to clients for resolution.
9. Reference Lab duties: Send out specimens for testing, fax reports to clients, document image results.
10. View fax log for errors and re-send to client.
11. Mail and Fax Distribution; distribute interoffice mail and incoming faxes appropriately.
12. Provide vacation/days off coverage for other members of department as needed.
13. Demonstrate proficient use of LIS system with high level of precision, i.e., Copath, Word, Excel and other customized programs.
14. Assist with any other duties as directed by Supervisor/Manager/Director.
15. Demonstrate problem solving abilities and seek out and perform additional tasks.
16. Demonstrate a commitment to personal safety and the safety of all staff
17. Assist with compliance of all professional federal, state, and CAP requirements including all chemical waste management, safety and infection control policies.
18. Follow all AHC/CSM policies and procedures outlined in employee source book, general administrative SOPs to include specific department SOPs.

Qualifications include:
• Minimum of High School diploma required
• Pathology experience in a lab a plus
• Administrative experience in a medical setting
