The Communications Specialist works in conjunction with the corporate communications department to meet the communications and pre-positioning goals of the organization. The specialist requires strong writing and a range of practical skills because of the varied requests anticipated with individual deadlines. Projects performed can vary day-to-day. Preferred Characteristics:

Responsibilities
- Assist corporate communications in identifying and writing content for press releases, blogs, trade publications, and Dimensions . Ensure approved content is added or updated in job and employee records.
- Support communications functions, including ads, announcements, and brochures.
- Work with marketing and operations leadership to create and execute communications plans aligned to Dewberry's strategic goals and market segments.
- Prepares industry ranking submissions.
- Coordinate communications projects or campaigns as needed under the direction of the communications director or CCO.
- Assist with storyboarding, filming, and editing videos.
- Develop strong relationships with marketing and project management staff.
Required Skills & Required Experience
Experience:
- Three to five years of experience in a professional setting.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; knowledge of AP Style and English grammar.
- Proficient in the use of MS Word and PowerPoint; content management systems, Adobe InDesign and Photoshop, a plus. Familiarity with video editing, a plus.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in communications, English, journalism, or equivalent degree.

- Strong attention to detail and excellent quality control.
- Serve as a Dewberry brand ambassador.
