The Software Developer serves as an integral part of the Software Engineering team, providing assistance and expertise throughout the entire software development lifecycle. The Software Developer works closely with the IT Manager to create new service concepts and enhance software systems with data-integration and automations. These actions serve as a means of annually improving the effectiveness and efficiency of services to approximately 38,000 students and 1,000 professional and student staff members within Residential Facilities, Resident Life, and other campus and affiliated agencies. The Software Developer works closely with users (i.e. students, professional and student staff, administrators) throughout each system’s development process to identify problems and inefficiencies, to understand the new levels and nature of service that are desired, to understand in detail how services are to be requested and provided, and to create and test relevant user and technical documentation.
