Principal Associate, Process Excellence - Operations Testing

Looking for the opportunity to be part of a startup within Capital One? The Well Managed team is seeking a highly motivated Testing Principal Associate with a proven Well Managed mindset when it comes to testing and execution. The ideal candidate will have good organizational and communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to seamlessly interact with internal and external partners. The individual will need to be able to understand our product and existing processes in preparation to run testing campaigns. Additionally, the individual will own the preparedness and execution of internal testing (ICTT, Audit, and others), providing information and assistance to the testing organization. Whenever defects are identified, this candidate will record the issue(s) and track progress toward resolution. Succinct communications are required in order to share results with key stakeholders.

We are seeking a motivated individual who can learn quickly, work autonomously, and hold partners accountable. As part of a startup, the candidate needs to be able to handle a variety of work demands, showing good judgement and prioritization in day to day tasks, and demonstrate flexibility as needed to take on new assignments.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Owning testing processes
    • Understand changes to the system and functionality
    • Designing testing to validate those changes in different environments
    • Documentation of testing efforts and results
    • Defect logging, reporting, and tracking toward resolution
    • Planning for tester availability and capacity
    • Status reporting of ongoing testing activities
    • Aid in documenting the Testing process and ensure testing activities are executed with an "audit ready" mindset
  • Supporting Audits, Exams and Internal Assessments (2nd/3rd line testing)
    • Preparing team for upcoming engagements
    • Facilitating meetings throughout engagements
    • Collaborating with workstream leads and Well Managed team in order to provide data and other inputs
    • Support information requests and response reviews as part of assessment inquiries
    • Researching defects to identify root cause
    • Tracking remediation of identified defects
  • Escalating as needed to work around impediments
  • Identifying areas for Continuous Improvement from testing results/observations
  • Collaborating with teammates on larger initiatives; may participate on cross-functional project teams and provide input for process improvement initiatives.

Basic Qualifications:
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalentcertification
  • At least 3 years of experience with Microsoft Office or G Suite
  • At least 2 years of experience working within financial services on customer servicing applications, account systems of record, or testing


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 1+ year of experience in audit, compliance, or testing
  • 3+ years of process management experience
  • 4+ years of experience working within financial services on customer servicing applications, account systems of record, or testing
  • BPM, Six Sigma, Lean or PMP Certification
