Duties

As a HMDA Regulatory Analyst, you will:
  • Provide Subject Matter Expertise in the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act to the HMDA Operations team in interpretation and analysis of Regulation C, assisting with translating regulatory requirements into tasks for programmers to develop into computer code for the HMDA Platform.
  • Support the process of integrating regulatory changes into program code by coordinating between the Bureau Regulations writing team and the technical HMDA Operations team, and provide insights to both teams through analytic methods on potential impacts of proposed regulatory actions on HMDA Platform computer code, HMDA filers, and on HMDA publications.
  • Support the annual review of HMDA edits in Filing Instruction Guide (FIG) and recommend updates that are published on the https://ffiec.cfpb.gov/ website; provides analytic support to weigh proposed changes and impacts.

At that time, you may be eligible to request to continue to telework on a routine or situational basis in accordance with the Bureau's telework policy.

    Qualifications

    You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the announcement's closing date.

    For the CN-53, you must have one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower band/grade (CN-52, GS-12 or equivalent) in the Federal service. For this position, specialized experience is defined as:
    • Experience performing regulatory, market, financial, or economic research using analytic methods (such statistics, user surveys, literature reviews); presenting results and recommendations to senior leaders and stakeholders; AND
    • Experience assessing program strategic goals and recommending actions to improve performance; AND
    • Experience translating regulatory or statutory information into technical requirements for software development.; AND
    • Experience planning, organizing, analyzing, and evaluating a variety of projects and deadlines to ensure alignment with an agency's strategic objectives and priorities

    In addition to specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.
    1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
    2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
    3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
    4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

    The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service . One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.     CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
    • A one year probationary period may be required.
    • Public Trust - Background Investigation will be required.
