Duties

This position is located in the Office of Inspector General, Office of Management, Information Technology Directorate. The Information Technology Directorate provides software development, infrastructure and technical support services along with information security, records, and property management.

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will perform the following duties:
  • Serves as a technical expert in applying the principles and methods of low-code and web application software development, commercial-off-the shelf software package configuration, data conversion, and system testing
  • Multiple low-code platforms, such as Service Now, Microsoft Power Apps, Salesforce, etc. with 5+ years of experience
  • Serves as the expert in Microsoft SharePoint Administration, with 5+ years of experience preferred
  • Works with web application technologies including ColdFusion (CFML and CFScript)

This is a Public Trust Position. Employment in this position requires a background investigation. The selectee will be required to complete a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the I-9 Form. We will compare information provided on the I-9 Form to records available from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Upon appointment, you will be required to complete a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450. You will need to provide the information annually.

You are applying under Delegated Examining and if selected under this authority, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period, even if you are a transfer from another federal agency.

Qualifications

In addition to the mandatory education requirement, all applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal Service.

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.

Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

GS-14: Applying software design principles, methods, and approaches during all phases of the system development lifecycle; (2) Designing and developing applications through the optimal use of reusable component; and(3) Utilizing database management principles and methodologies; including data structures; data modeling, data warehousing; and transaction processing sufficient to design, write, test, debug; and maintain software applications that meet technical and functional requirements.

In addition to the above specialized experience, applicants must also meet the IT-Related proficiency level for all four of the competencies listed below:

Education

This position does not have a mandatory education requirement.

There is no substitution for specialized experience at this grade level.

Additional information
