Duties

  • You will serve as the principal advisor and assistant to the Material Branch Head and to upper management.
  • You will provide services for analysis and monitoring of computer programs and operations, traffic management, managerial analysis and reporting, and making recommendations to the Material Branch Head for optimum utilization of resources.
  • You will plan, organize, and oversee the activities of the Patuxent River Material Branch Personnel.
  • You will be responsible for planning, directing, and controlling the management of freight shipments including but not limited to outbound/inbound shipment.
  • You will plan, direct, and control the receiving, storage, issue, and internal inventory control over approximately 67,000 line items of material.
  • You will be responsible for determining Branch training requirements, maintaining records on attendance, notifying employees of retiring deadlines, assisting in the coordination of training arrangements with the Division

Qualifications

I have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal Service or equivalent pay band or experience in the private or public sector performing and/or leading Supply Management Analyst work applying a wide range of well-established supply and inventory management; property disposal; transportation and packaging; and hazardous material management principles, concepts, regulations and policies to analyze, evaluate, ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the following functions: 1) receipt, storage, issuance, and internal inventory control of supplies and materials, and 2) coordination and management of freight shipments including outbound/inbound shipments from general supplies to highly sophisticated sensitive and expensive parts and materials as well as hazardous materials. I have experience conducting statistical studies of supply operations that result in developing recommendations for improvements to supply operations, manpower changes, material/equipment modifications and/or supply program upgrades.

Education

Substitute of education: A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or three (3) full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. in logistics, operations, or another closely related field.

This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
