Position Summary: The Independent Test and Certification Branch at APG, MD is searching for a Modem Certification Technician for the Protected Anti-jam Tactical SATCOM (PATS) effort. The candidate will play a critical role in the execution of a test and performance evaluation program in support of PATS. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Duties include, but not limited to:Automate testing using Visual Studio and/or other programming languages.Configure networks and hubs in support of test activities, performing configuration activities that exceed the capabilities of a standard user.Expert use of test and evaluation equipment. (ie Spectrum Analyzers, BER Test sets, Signal Generators, Frequency Counters, Power Meters and Sensors).Create tidy and consistent test reports and other results documents in support of equipment evaluations.Prepare and present test results to management and customers. Requirements: The position is contingent upon candidates ability to meet physical and medical requirements as needed by the position; thereby, including compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local jurisdictional requirements with respect to COVID-19, as well as any Government or customer site-specific requirements. Requirements typically include but are not limited to proof of full COVID-19 vaccination status, except in circumstances where a candidate is legally entitled to an accommodation.Minimum RequirementsMinimum of 3 years of experience in TDMA/IP modems. Experience should include iDirect, Linkway, and NCW.Minimum of 2 years of experience with test equipment which would include Spectrum analyzers, power meters, signal generators, noise test sets, and Fireberds.Minimum 3 years of SATCOM/RF experience such as working at a Teleport, STEP, SATCOM or commercial site.Minimum 3 yrs with router/switch experience. CISCO certification a plus (CCNA/CCNP/CVOICE).Knowledge and Skills IP test set experience with JDSU and/or Spirent equipment.Experience in test lab or environment is a plus.Education 4 year degree or comparable work/military experience.Other QualificationsHave and maintain an active DoD SECRET clearance.Software development skillset sufficient to automate tests using Visual Studio and/or other programming languages.
