This individual will support our client, a cost and project management firm in Alexandria, VA with projects throughout the country. Job Responsibilities The Senior Cost Manager will become a part of our client's Construction Cost Management team in Alexandria, VA. This person will be responsible collaborating between Cost Managers and Projects Managers, influencing every step of the construction decision-making process for each projects' unique circumstances and continually improving the services provided to each client. Responsibilities of the Senior Cost Manager include: Create cost estimates at all stages of a project life-cycle from feasibility, concept, design, pre-bid to detailed estimates of labor, material and equipment breakdowns Manage and lead a team of estimators Manage change order request Write complex business documents such as reports and detailed letters Perform quality control and assurance on cost estimates Interface with clients and manage key accounts as needed Assist with bid and life-cycle analysis and other economic studies Job Requirements: Specific qualifications for the Senior Cost Manager include: Bachelor's degree in a construction related discipline Ten (10) or more years of cost management experience on medium to large scale construction projects Ten (10) or more years of architectural, structural and civil disciplines ideally with a working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel Proficiency in proprietary government estimating software programs to include: Bluebeam, PlanSwift, 2nd Generation MCASES (MII), and RSMeans, most recent versions Potential travel one to two times per year overseas for State Department or US military projects Valid Driver's License Authorized to work in the US Benefits RealStreet offers a comprehensive benefit package which includes: Paid Time Off Paid Holidays 401(k) Retirement Plan with generous company match Medical Insurance Plan which includes prescription coverage Voluntary Vision Insurance Dental Insurance Life Insurance & long term disability insurance Build a better construction career with RealStreet!
