This individual will support our client, a cost and project management firm in Alexandria, VA with projects throughout the country. Job Responsibilities The Senior Mechanical Estimator will become a part of our client's Construction Cost Estimating team in Alexandria, VA. This person will be responsible for change order management, life-cycle costs analysis, contractual interpretation and positioning, value management and all other aspects of commercial construction. Responsibilities of the Senior Mechanical Estimator include: Create cost estimates at all stages of a project life-cycle from feasibility, concept, design, pre-bid to detailed estimates of labor, material and equipment breakdowns Manage MEP dominate projects Participate in MEP change order analysis and negotiation Write complex business documents such as reports, and detailed letters Price MEP deficiencies as a part of the Facility Condition Assessment services Assist in mentoring junior staff Attend project site visits both in and outside the continental United States on an as needed basis Job Requirements: Specific qualifications for the Senior Mechanical Estimator include: Bachelor's degree in construction related discipline or ten (10) or more years equivalent field experience Ten (10) or more years of industry experience preferably spanning several sectors such as commercial, hospitality, education and government Ten (10) or more years of cost management / estimating experience on medium to large scale construction projects with specific reference to MEP trades Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Proficiency with proprietary government estimating software to include: Generation MCACES (MII), SUCCESS, RSMeans and PACES, most recent versions Must have a valid Driver's License Authorized to work in the US Benefits RealStreet offers a comprehensive benefit package which includes: Paid Time Off Paid Holidays 401(k) Retirement Plan with generous company match Medical Insurance Plan which includes prescription coverage Voluntary Vision Insurance Dental Insurance Life Insurance & long term disability insurance Build a better construction career with RealStreet!
