We are seeking a Staff Sales Engineer to join our team. Oceus Networks designs, delivers, and supports a wide range of mobile broadband solutions for United States Government (DoD, DoS, DHS, FedCiv) and commercial customers. As part of the Department of Defense / Intelligence Community (DoD/IC) team, the Staff Sales Engineer will work directly with our Capture, Sales, and Business Development personnel to identify opportunities, shape customer requirements, provide engineering expertise to solve complex customer problems, and respond to official customer solicitations. This position requires the ability to communicate complex technical details to customers, both orally and written, demonstrating a thorough understanding of the customer challenges, and developing an effective solution. Typical pre-sales activities include gaining understanding of customer's business and analysis of customer's communication network needs, preparation, and presentation of technical proposals of how Oceus Networks' products and solutions meet those needs. The Staff Sales Engineer is part of a team responding to official customer solicitations. A Sales Engineer's responsibilities include solutioning, preparing the solution bill of materials and working across the organization to determine the level of effort required to implement the solution. Typical post-sale activities include keeping customer current on how the organizations products and solutions address the customers changing or future needs. This position requires extensive knowledge of the organization's products and solutions to understand the key integration points in customers networks whether they be enterprise, tactical, or commercial broadband architectures. The domain focus of this Sales Engineer position is focusing on DoD/IC customers requiring broadband solutions. This position will provide challenging career development opportunities across multiple disciplines. As a small company, Oceus Networks entrusts our engineering team to develop tactical and enterprise solutions. In this role the candidate will develop broadband wired and wireless solutions using bare metal, private cloud, and public cloud. Our organization works with our DoD/IC customers and partner companies establishing requirements and developing architectures which solve critical mission requirements. The successful candidate will develop skills in cellular, IP, zero-trust, and hyperscaler architectures. Duties and Responsibilities:Serves customers by identifying their needs and engineering adaptations of products, equipment, and services.Identifies current and future customer requirements by establishing personal rapport with the customer and key influencers in the customers organization.Works with customers to shape requirements where there is a fit for the Oceus products and solutions.Supports the Sales Account team by providing technical support and presentations to customers.Prepares customer solutions to include cost estimates by studying all related customer documents, consulting with engineers, architects, and other professional personnel within the organization.Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.Qualifications and Requirements:U.S. citizenshipCurrent DoD or IC security clearanceBachelor's degree in a science or engineering discipline; Applied Physics, EE, CS, or CE is preferred; qualified candidates will equivalent years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree will be consideredDoD 8570 IAT Level II (Security+ or CCNA) DoD 8570 IAT Level III Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Security Route and Switch certification3-5 years of experience in systems engineering or solution architecture is required; preferred experience includes:3-5 years working with DoD customers providing network-based solutions.3-5 years developing and deploying into a hyperscaler environment such as Azure or AWS3-5 years architecting in a containerized environment using: Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, and Jenkins3-5 years architecting cloud-services for customers, understanding of Infrastructure, Platform, and Software as a Service 3-5 years architecting Radio Access Networks and experience with radio deploymentExcellent oral and written communication skillsStrong problem-solving skills and analytical abilityDemonstrated knowledge of broadband architectures including cellular, Wi-Fi, MANET, microwave, tactical radios, and SATCOM networking.Demonstrated knowledge of IP networking including current best practices for switching, routing, tunneling and higher layer protocols standards for video, voice, and Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) applications.Demonstrated knowledge of Linux based systems.Demonstrated knowledge of network security implementation including IPSec, TLS, GRE, tunneling concepts, Enterprise PKI and Certificate Authorities.Availability to work on-site either in Plano TX or Reston VAAvailability to support 30% estimated travelIndividuals with disabilities who need assistance with the application process may contact us by email: hr@oceusnetworks.com or phone: 703-234-9176.Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and InclusionAt Oceus Networks our people are as diverse as our projects.
