Convanta's state-of-the-art facilities have a track record for delivering industry-leading quality, innovation, and employee satisfaction.JOB SUMMARYWe seek a dedicated individual who will be responsible for performing various mechanical, maintenance and repair work including the inspection and maintenance work required for rotating machinery and equipment used for accepting and processing waste and recyclables at the Transfer Station. The Technician will be required to inspect, adjust, repair or modify the mechanics of various rolling stock and facility machinery, including but not limited to wheel loaders, dozers, yard tractors, trucks, cranes, chassis, walking floor trailers, intermodal containers, and compactors.RESPONSIBILITIESThe inspection and maintenance work required for rotating machinery and equipment.Inspect and adjust, as necessary, the mechanical alignment, balance, level and general condition of rotating equipment throughout the Transfer Station.Perform welding in SMAW, GTAW, and GMAW.Perform preventative maintenance tasks.Actively participate in the periodic teardown and internal inspection of major equipment.Use various shop equipment in the performance of his/her assigned tasks.Read and interpret measuring tools, blueprints, P&IDs, graphs and technical manuals.Follow all health and safety rules and regulations mandated by law and per the policies and procedures.Install, test, troubleshoot and repair electronic equipment using various procedures and test equipment.Use hand tools and small power tools to complete work.Read and understand technical drawings and written work instruction.Multi-tasking priorities and various service need.Carry out installation, configuration, testing and commissioning of GPS Installations on intermodal equipment.Complete work orders.Hydraulic and electrical sensor calibration and configuration.Electrical troubleshooting and fault analysis.PLC programming and troubleshooting.QUALIFICATIONS3+ years of heavy equipment and truck repair experienceTIG or MIG welding experienceBasic knowledge of electronics and hydraulicsExperience in Waste Industry a plusProficient in the use of cutting torch, plasma arc, and cutting machines.Prior experience working off lifts or staging.Prior Rigging experience is a plus.
