In the interest of safety for all City Winery employees, the Company requires all employees to be vaccinated, including the booster shot if eligible, unless due to a bona fide medical and/or sincerely held religious reason in which case a reasonable accommodation will be provided unless it causes an undue hardship to City Winery.Position SummaryLine Cooks are responsible for high-quality preparation, cooking, and production of dishes during service to menu and recipe specifications.Minimum QualificationsMinimum 2 years' experience as a Line Cook in full-service, high-volume, fast paced kitchen or food service environmentStrong work ethic, team player, and customer-focused approachMust have excellent knife skills and proficiency in all aspects of cooking.Demonstrated experience with various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and proceduresWorking knowledge and understanding of health, safety, and sanitation standardsAbility to follow and execute recipes to designated specificationsAbility to take directionAbility to work in a clean, organized, and efficient manner in a high-pressure environment.Ability to work resourcefully, and proactively resolve issuesExcellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skillsEffective communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build positive relationships with people in the scope of employmentPolished presentationAbility to work both independently and in a team environmentAbility to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidaysAbility to perform physical requirements of the role including standing/walking for entirety of shift, bending, pulling, pushing, using stairs, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.Overview of ResponsibilitiesPrepare and produce a variety of high-quality dishes as per guest orders, while following approved recipes & specifications in an accurate and timely mannerPerform work on different kitchen line stations as per business demandsCook menu items in alignment with the kitchen team to deliver dishes simultaneously at appropriate timeWeigh and measure ingredients; properly use recipes in order to produce dishes up to standardMaintain a thorough working knowledge of recipes, ingredients, allergens, and food presentationEnsure that food quality, quantity, freshness, and presentation meet City Winery standardsMaintain department cleanliness and organization, adhere to safe work and equipment practices, and follow all food safety, health and sanitation standardsPerform work on different kitchen line stations as per business demandsProperly store and/or discard leftover foodSet up, stock stations, and replenish kitchen inventory and supplies as neededEnsure all products and prepared items are labeled, dated, initialed, covered, and rotated following FIFOExhibit mindfulness of volume due to open kitchen settingFollow all company policies, procedures, and guidelines including being ready to work at scheduled shift time, in uniform, with neat and presentable appearance.Perform all other reasonably assigned dutiesPerks & Benefits!
