Canam Steel Corporation is a major US manufacturer of open web steel joists and steel deck. The company participates in thousands of projects each year ranging from large distribution centers and high rise projects, to small retail centers. The steel joist business in the US dates back to 1986 as a partnership with Canam Group and our steel deck business was launched by an acquisition of the United Steel Deck brand in 2010. The Corporation currently operates six fabrication facilities, several sales and engineering offices, and employs approximately 900 people across the United States.Maintains the corporate HR Systems, including HRIS, ATS, and payroll systems payroll systems and supports use of the system by the HR Department. Trains HR personnel to fully utilize system for administrative efficiencies.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Responsible for the configuration and utilization of the company HR systems, including review, testing and implementation of HRIS system upgrades or patches, under the guidance of Corp IT. Collaborate with functional and technical staff to coordinate application of upgrade or fix. Maintain HRIS system tables the HRIS, payroll, timekeeping, applicant tracking systems and others.Provide support for HRHRIS including learning best practices for utilization of the systems, training HR department users., but not limited to, researching and resolving HRIS problems, unexpected results or process flaws; perform scheduled activities; recommend solutions or alternate methods to meet requirements.Maintain and review HR data and metrics and provide reports on company-wide HR KPI's and other reports requested by managementLiaison with third parties and other stakeholders to provide needed data (eg, benefits, payroll, local HR managers, safety managers, etc).Recommend process/customer service improvements, innovative solutions and policy changes. Use some project management skills in managing projects.Write, maintain and support a variety of reports or queries utilizing appropriate reporting tools. Assist in development of standard reports for ongoing customer needs. Help maintain data integrity in systems by running queries and analyzing data.Solicit feedback and identify overall needs of HRIS end users. Prepare and distribute timely and appropriate HRIS communications.Develop user procedures, guidelines and documentation. Train staff on use of system. Coordinate consistent use of the systems. Develop and conduct in-house HRIS training programs to end-users. Develop and maintain up-to-date end user training manuals and materials.Maintain awareness of current trends in HRIS HR systems and data with a focus on product and service development, delivery and support, and applying key technologies. Examine trends in information systems training, materials and techniques. Continuously increases both HR knowledge and HRIS system application/tools knowledge. Participate in user group meetings/conferences.REQUIREMENTS:Associate's Degree with 3 or more years of experience in Human Resource systems.Experience in HR systems including HRIS, ATS, Learning Management and related systems. Experience with reporting data. Crystal Reports, MS Access and similar systems. Thorough knowledge of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Prefer specialized experience with ADP HRIS, timekeeping and payroll systems, an HRIS system, including specific experience with Kronos Workforce HR. Previous exposure to project-related activities through active participation in system-related projects.Excellent communications skills, verbal and written. Must possess the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel.Exceptional organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.Must be able to work independently without close supervision to make sound decisions based on policy/Company practice.All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
