As a IT Specialist (ENTARCH) at the GS-2210-14 some of your typical work assignments may include:
  • Serve as the Information Technology Specialist (technical authority) and Architecture Development, Analysis and Information Sharing Specialist with continuing responsibility within AID to review, analyze, develop and share WMA, Command and Control (C2) and Cyber Architectures that provide enterprise level capability requirements to manage the operation, defense, and maintenance of C2 and Cyber operations, systems and networks throughout the DoD.
  • Provide recommendations to guidelines and policy regarding WMA, C2 and Cyber architecture analysis, development and information sharing; identify criteria, processes, doctrine, and standards and operations used in Joint C2 and Cyber Operations.
  • Research and analyze future trends and developments in the field of architecture analysis and information sharing to define opportunities and constraints on the selection of service and application technologies, which involves evaluating the expected gains to be made, impact on critical systems, undertaking cost-benefit analysis, and making a decision often with missing information.
  • Coordinate CCMD/Service/Agency for architecture analysis and information sharing standards development.
  • Represent the Joint Staff J6 on contacts with external activities including DOD components, other Federal Agencies, State and local governments, and private industry presenting views of the Joint Staff J6 on all technology planning, process improvement, performance measurement and analysis matters.

  • Occasional travel (up to 10%) with little notice may be required to coordinate initiatives and to represent the division at meetings and events and to do demonstrations and presentations about the division?s efforts.
  • Must be willing and able to travel on military and commercial aircraft, vessels, and/or vehicles.

You may qualify at the GS-14, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military. or private sector. Creditable specialized experience includes:
  • Applies IT policies, concepts, theories, technical developments, and requirements for the development, management, information sharing, and optimization of Warfighting Mission Area (WMA), Command and Control (C2) and Cyber architecture capabilities.
  • Develops Warfighting Mission Area (WMA) Enterprise Architectures and tools for Joint Capabilities Integration and Development Systems (JCIDS) architecture processes, information systems, and best practices utilizing advanced and evolving technical concepts.
  • Utilizes knowledge of cybersecurity principles and web application secure coding concepts, standards, and practices to integrate information sharing systems ensuring security technical integrity.
  • Performs analysis to identify new and emerging Internet technologies and ensure applications and tools used in architecture development, analysis and information sharing are consistent with the current and planned infrastructure and data environments.

Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
