Duties

As a Management and Program Analyst, you will perform analytical and evaluative work related to program operations, management and organizational efficiency, and productivity to support the accomplishment of the principal mission of the reactor safety program.

The successful candidate will perform the full range of duties. Such duties include but are not limited to:
  • Providing line managers with objectively based information for making decisions on the administrative and programmatic aspects of office and business line operations and management.
  • Coordinating resolution of programmatic issues as appropriate that affect the division, office, and respective business lines, and providing recommendations and assistance to supervisors, management, and to other members of the division.
  • Developing and providing oversight of activities in assigned areas, such as human capital and recognition, space management, budget execution and resource programming, fee estimates and fee billing, performance management and internal controls, program issue resolution, correspondence management, records management, information collections, office instructions, and the agency's Regulatory Information Conference, to ensure consistent implementation of agency policies.
  • Performing analyses as directed or as initiated individually. Developing and implementing improvements in handling aspects of day-to-day division operations.
  • Reviewing correspondence proposed for signature or concurrence by the Office Director, Executive Director for Operations, and the Commission.
  • Ensuring all written communications that are processed meet a high standard of excellence as to English, grammar, style, and tone of correspondence. Frequently brings to the attention of the originator, or the management, questions of error, omission, and consistency pertaining to the content of the correspondence dealing with policy and basic procedural matters.
  • Reviewing and processing of incoming OEDO document requests and office action items; identifying and assigning lead office; and providing special instructions for completion, as needed.
  • Managing multiple contracts for the office; having COR level II certification or at least 1-year experience with contracts.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level (12) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is defined as demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the fields of administrative policy, procedures, practices and standards pertaining to correspondence; coordinating administrative activities; contract management and maintenance; and the ability to work in a team environment. Candidates must be able to effectively collaborate and deal tactfully, confidentially, and professionally with all levels of personnel.
