Duties

As a Supervisory IT Specialist GS 2210 14, your typical work assignments may include:
  • Supervising a team in conducting analyses, developing goals, objectives, and strategies, and in other strategic, tactical, and business planning activities.
  • Developing long and short- range marketing strategies, including budget projects, and prepares annual marketing plans and sales forecasts.
  • Serving as an intermediary between customer organizations and IT merchants in order to negotiate cost, service, delivery, installation, and warranties.
  • Leading, conducting, or participating in complex IT management studies and reviews.

Qualifications

Basic Requirement:
For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:

1) Attention to Detail - Is though when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
2) Customer service - Works with clients and customers (this is, any individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; and is committed to providing quality products and services.
3) Oral Communication- Expresses information to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information; makes clear and convincing oral presentations.
4) Problem Solving - Identifies problems, determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgement to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

Specialized Experience:
You qualify for the GS-14 grade level (starting salary $122,530) if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal government, performing duties such as:
  • Developing long and short- range marketing strategies, including budget projects, and prepares annual marketing plans and sales forecasts;
  • Developing and implementing project management procedures, tools, templates, activities, and infrastructure; and/or
  • Providing project management training and assistance to technical staff.

Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level.

Time-in-grade
Current General Schedule (GS) federal employees, and those that have served in GS positions within the last 52 weeks, must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade, or a combination of the next lower grade level and an equivalent band in the federal service by the closing of this announcement.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
