Duties

• You will provide management, operation, and execution of maintenance and repair to real property, in support of mission requirements.
• You will maintain, repair, and construct rigid pavements or similar cement and concrete surfaces.
• You will maintain, repair, and construct flexible roads, pavements, parking areas, airdromes, bike paths, or similar surfaces of sketches.
• You will utilize safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• You will use and maintain tools and equipment. Use screeds, hand and power tools, floats, edgers, abrasives, and other cement finishing tools.

• This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. Emergency overtime may be required.
• Shift work may be required.
• This is a bargaining unit position.
• You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
• This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

Qualifications

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: The Ability to do the Work without More than Normal Supervision. Tasks include: 1) Maintaining and repairing rigid and flexible pavements, roads, and runways 2) Planning and laying out work from blueprints, rough sketches and work orders 3) Removing concrete using buggies, wheelbarrows, or shovels . I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
