  • Major Duties
    • Leads the development of the myNavyExchange.com site vision, and translates into a roadmap that is aligned to our financial, customer, and brand goals. Oversees the effective merchandising of product throughout the site to achieve demand / profit plans and improve customer experience.
    • Develops and executes e-commerce strategies that improve the customer experience while increasing conversion rates, market share, key segments and managing margin across all categories of business. Has a thorough understanding of all sources of customer data and utilize Data & Analytics.
    • Responsible for monthly ecommerce forecasts including traffic, sales, and conversion and weekly reporting and insight into ecommerce performance.
    • Develops a testing plan to continually improve online and offline tactics, creative messaging, landing page optimization to increase traffic growth and conversion.
    • Leads site content and calendar development, inclusive of all promotions, in collaboration with Marketing to drive demand and customer acquisition objectives on the site.
    • Manages the site merchandising process, site wide navigation, and product page design and enhancements to drive engagement, conversion, enrich our services, highlight site features and improve overall experience.
    • Monitors and manages performance, drive insights to guide improvements. Manages daily e-commerce operations including, online merchandising, operations, promotion, and content execution. Drives alignment with marketing, merchandising, and promotional calendar.
    • Maintains expertise of the e-commerce / digital / web landscape and a working knowledge of online competitors, identifying web trends, category growth, and online growth opportunities.
    • Identify performance trends across products and categories through data analysis, and present thoughtful strategies for future improvement/development. Analyze and observe pricing, messaging, functionality and presentation on competing retail/brand sites. Use findings to inform future strategies.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    The incumbent of this position must file a Financial Disclosure Report (OGE) Form 450, as required.

    Qualifications

    Basic requirements for entry into this NF-05 (non-appropriated fund) position include the following:

    A total of 8 years of experience, consisting of the following:

    GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Three years of experience in corporate marketing and/or e-commerce work that enabled the candidate to gain knowledge of marketing/e-commerce techniques and methods; or substitution of education for general experience:

    AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Five years of progressive experience in Merchandising and/or Marketing and/or Financial Planning in a corporate retail environment.

    Includes KEY SKILLS:
    • Exceptional communicator, both verbal and written, with all levels within the organization to foster strong working relationships.
    • Experience with e-commerce platforms critical, ATG/Oracle Commerce a plus.
    • Ability to define strategic vision, operationalize the delivery, and monitor and pivot.
    • Experience with web analytics tools and using data to make decisions.
    • Proven track record of converting data into actionable improvement.
    • Strong leadership and proven ability to build and manage a high performing team.
    • Experience working in a nimble, fast paced environment.
    • Ability to make/execute sound decisions with limited information and resources.
    • Able to work with direction, exercise independent judgment, has strong leadership and analytical skills.


    Education

    4 year bachelor's degree in any field preferred, however 1 year of academic study above the high school level may be substituted for 9 months of experience, up to a maximum of a four year bachelor's degree for 3 years of general experience.
