The Post is seeking an experienced and strategic leader to become Head of Product.

This person will manage the product strategy, development and delivery of The Washington Post's core products and experiences, including our website, apps, newsletters, internal tools and subscriber experience.

We are seeking an innovative leader and creative problem solver who is passionate about expanding our product team and building the ultimate news experience for users who visit our digital news platforms daily.

The head of product will be responsible for roadmap development across the portfolio, turning strategic priorities into tangible outcomes and motivating cross-functional teams to deliver. They will lead a team of product managers and designers working on products that engage, convert and retain lifelong users and subscribers; build a culture of fast-paced innovation; and guide the creation of a suite of products that are more live, visual, engaging and relevant. They will support the team in setting goals and measuring outcomes for key initiatives, helping to determine priorities, develop timelines and partner with engineering leadership to ensure seamless delivery.

Excellent communication skills are vital in this role, as working with stakeholders across the organization will be key to success. Management experience and a passion for news are required. The ideal candidate is proactive, collaborative and has a track record of building innovative products that have successfully engaged and grown audiences. Strong competitive awareness and a willingness to take risks are essential. Experience working in a subscriptions business is preferred.

The ideal candidate must have the ability to seamlessly shift altitudes - from day-to-day operations to high-level strategy; analyze audience engagement in real-time and for longer-range trends; draw clear and actionable insights from quantitative and qualitative data; and effectively communicate those insights to multidisciplinary teams.

The addition of this role is part of a series of changes to our leadership structure that will help bridge news, product and engineering to prepare us for the future as we continue to increase our global audience and build the news products of the future. As with all leadership positions, we seek individuals with a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion, and an empathetic leadership style. This position is based in our Washington headquarters. Once we return to normal operations, it will not be eligible for remote work.
