Arc XP is a cloud-based digital experience platform that helps enterprise companies, retail brands and media and entertainment organizations create and distribute content, drive digital commerce, and deliver powerful multichannel experiences. A division of The Washington Post, Arc XP has powered the digital transformation of customers across the globe, currently serving over 1,900 sites in more than 25 countries that reach nearly 2 billion unique visitors monthly.
We are in immediate need of a Senior Technical Product Manager to own the development of Arc XP's content publishing platform. This enterprise-scale headless content management system powers over a thousand global websites and delivers stories, photos, videos and other content-related services to the Arc XP content authoring tools.
The Senior Technical Product Manager will have the opportunity to define the vision for how the platform captures, organizes and distributes data throughout our ecosystem. The Senior Technical Product Manager will need to analyze, prioritize, and realize the highest leverage opportunities as well as triage and combine business and technical requests from the different internal and external teams.
A key part of the role will be working on API-driven data integrations, extensible schema design and optimization, PubSub patterns, version control and locking concepts. Candidates must have worked on an enterprise-scale publishing platform or similar. They should also be able to review, debug and design REST and preferably GraphQL web services.
Part of the responsibility of this role is not only improving the platform, but managing the "day-to-day" issues of a core component of the platform. You will need to assist in triage of issues, client requests, coordinating with Support, Account Management and other team, as well as clarification of specific use cases to generic platform requirements.
In this role, you will use this feedback to drive platform and feature improvements, while also looking to the overall business goals of Arc XP to drive a long-term, strategic roadmap. You will balance competing demands to push forward a stable, scalable platform for Arc XP's users. This is a hands-on role, working directly with a cross-functional sprint team to execute your roadmap.
The ideal candidate is an organized, critical thinker, who communicates at effective levels of technical depth and wields a commitment to constantly improve the services provided by the publishing platform. This is a technical role and candidates must be able to track technical requirements in detail. Your "customers" are engineers and backend developers on other Arc teams or customer developers. You are expected to know how they work, what they need, and are excited to build a platform that makes their lives easier and products better.
Responsibilities
- Create, manage and evangelize a strategic roadmap
- Incorporate user feedback, business goals, and engineering requirements into a the component roadmap for the Arc XP platform extensibility
- Coordinate product release activities across multiple teams, driving internal team coordination and clear communication
- Engage with engineers and other product managers to identify, validate and execute on key roadmap initiatives
- Solicit client feedback to drive platform and feature improvement
- Describe, demo, and document key technical features of the platform extensibility for Arc XP customers and internal users as a subject matter expert
- Identify internal processes and product features that will advance those goals in both the short and long term
- Identify key metrics to drive adoption of new features and best practices, and report them to stakeholders

Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years' experience of technical product management experience including:
- Analyzing customer feedback, user research, and performance data to guide roadmap development for a developer-focused product
- Conducting customer research sessions
- Managing and prioritizing against a backlog and roadmap
- Communicating directly with customers across multiple formats and streams - e.g. writing documentation, creating videos, meeting directly
- Working with designers, engineers, and other stakeholders to drive products in an agile manner
- Ability to communicate cross-functionally among sales, technical, and executive teams, explaining complex concepts using appropriate terminology for stakeholders
- Familiarity with cloud computing providers such as AWS
- Experience with DevOps workflows
- Experience with RESTful API and SDK design
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the content management platform space
- Experience as a backend or integration developer
- Publishing experience
- Enterprise SaaS experience
- Familiarity with data observability services such as Splunk or DataDog
- Familiarity with data observability services such as AWS XRay, AWS CloudWatch, Splunk or DataDog
