Job Summary/Company:

Sparks is seeking a Total Rewards Coordinator to support the Human Resources Department, located in Bethesda, MD.

Responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations, administration, and compliance of Health & Welfare Plan, Retirement Plan and Compensation programs, and is an integral member of the Total Rewards team as we seek to elevate awareness and perceived value of Total Rewards throughout the employment life cycle. This position involves problem-solving, customer service delivery, data analysis and effective communication.

  • Coordinates day-to-day processes & procedures required to effectively communicate and administer new and existing employee benefits including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, life insurance, leave and disability programs, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives. Coordinate with Payroll, Accounts Payable and a variety of external broker/vendor partners to monitor and maintain accurate employee benefit eligibility, enrollment, and cost data. (60%)
  • Serve as full-service customer support representative for direct inquiries from staff at all levels. Serve as Tier 2 support representative for HR Business Partners on Health & Welfare and Retirement-related matters. Research, respond and resolve problems in a timely, courteous, and complete manner. (20%)
  • Update and maintain compensation-related job documentation and HRIS records. Review and respond to requests for compensation information in support of general salary administration, business development, internal audits and/or external regulatory agency inquiries. (10%)
  • Prepare, analyze, and maintain reports, including enrollment, demographic and satisfaction measurements. (5%)
  • Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations, including required reporting, filings, fees and notices. (5%)
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.

  • Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    • General understanding of international, U.S. Federal, State and local employment and benefits laws & regulations.
    • General knowledge of benefits contract language and effective communication methods, channels and techniques.
    • Excellent organization and priority-setting skills, with the ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.
    • High level of customer service skills required with a focus on relationship management and customer satisfaction.
    • Must be proactive with the ability to partner and work effectively in a team environment.
    • Required to regularly exercise professional judgment and discretion, including when communicating with employees, management, and government/military customers.
    • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude, including familiarity with HRIS and benefits databases, UKG preferred.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, Communications, or related degree is required.

    Minimum Experience/ Training Requirements: Minimum 3-5 years of relevant work experience is required.

    Work Environment: Office environment.

    Work Arrangement: 100% on-site.
