Job Details

The Chief Building Engineer will provide leadership, technical direction, and support for the operational and maintenance for two 100,000rsf buildings. The Chief Building Engineers primary responsibility is to maintain base building services and operations at all times. This requires technical knowledge of all base building systems to implement maintenance and repairs to ensure optimal operations. The Chief Building Engineer will implement and manage staff, training, safety, policies, procedures, standards, and reporting related to all maintenance functions and repairs. This position reports directly to the Director of Logistics for Dewberry's Corporate Headquarters in Fairfax Virginia.

Required Skills & Required Experience

  • Associates Degree in technical area or equivalent experience and license.
  • Possess a current Virginia Journeyman Mechanical License is highly preferred.
  • Electrical or Plumbing License a plus.
  • Must be certified as a Universal Technician for CFC's
  • Possess a boiler operator's license
  • Minimum of 10+ years as a Lead or Chief Building Engineer.
  • Minimum of 5+ years effectively supervising Building Engineers.
  • Experience managing and using Building Automation System. Siemens Insight/Desigo experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of building systems, applicable laws/codes, and proper safety documentation requirements
  • Experience managing staff, contractors, vendors, major repairs/replacements, tenant build-outs, renovations, and capital improvements.
  • Must be able to respond to emergencies within 30 minutes on a 24/7 basis.
  • Ability to work well with all levels of management and staff.
  • General computer knowledge to include Microsoft Office 360.
  • AutoCAD and Building Automation Software knowledge a plus
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license and good driving record.
