Duties

As a EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT at the GS-0301-9/11 some of your typical work assignments may include:
  • Provides a range of administrative and clerical support to the Director, Deputy Director, and Chief of Staff.
  • Manages Enterprise Task Management Software System (ETMS2) (formerly known as the Task Management Tool (TMT)) for both classified and unclassified taskers.
  • Reviews documents to verify length of implementing attachments, addressees, and order of listing for Executive branch offices, agencies, and combatant commands.
  • Serves as a source of guidance to Directorate/ Agency staff personnel regarding administrative processes and procedures in general and, specifically, those to be followed in the preparation of documents for consideration by the Director, Strategic Integration Directorate and Director, DTRA.
  • Participates in the development and revision of editorial standards for the Directorate and Agency staff as necessary.
  • Maintains accurate electronic records on the status of all documents processed.

  • Overtime/Compensatory time: Overtime/compensatory time may be required at the discretion of management.
  • Ability to operate automated office systems is required.


Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-11, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service:
  • Extensive comprehensive knowledge of Enterprise Task Management Software System used in training new personnel in operating the systems used to perform their roles.
  • Experience with grammar, punctuation, spelling, and proper use of the English language in order to perform mechanical editing of Directorate and Agency staff documents.
  • Experience with Defense Travel System (DTS) in order to review and approve authorizations and vouchers for official travel. OR
B. Degree: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree.

You may qualify at the GS-09, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service:
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Defense Travel System (DTS) in order to review and approve authorizations and vouchers for official travel.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of grammar, punctuation, spelling, and proper use of the English language in order to perform mechanical editing of Directorate and Agency staff documents.
  • Independently plans, schedules, and accomplishes work; makes determinations regarding the need for organizational or programmatic studies or review of operating processes. OR
B. Degree: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

GRADUATE EDUCATION: One academic year of graduate education is considered to be the number of credits hours that your graduate school has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study. Such study may have been performed on a full-time or part-time basis. If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study.
