Duties

  • Utilizes expertise to consult with Army agencies in terms of data requirements, data collection, and data analysis procedures; prepare and review reports at required interagency and command levels.
  • Serves as the Program Manager for all aspects of the Drug and Alcohol Management Information System (DAMIS)for overseeing efforts related to Army Substance Abuse program.
  • Applies a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods for the assessment of the effectiveness of the Army Substance Abuse Program (ASAP) data.
  • Interfaces with IT program Specialist to aid in implementing ASAP information is incorporated into the Drug and Alcohol Management Information System (DAMIS) for the Army Resilience Directorate, HQDA, G-1 (DCS, G-1).
  • Acts as the Contracting Officers Representatives (COR) for all ASAP IT system contracts.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes applying a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods for the assessment of the effectiveness of the program data, such as the Army Substance Abuse Program; serving the as agency's subject matter expert on all Substance Abuse Program issues as it pertains to IT Systems; acting as the Contracting Officers Representatives for all program IT system contracts; developing recommendations based on assessments of complex management processes that improve the program and policies.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
