Duties

  • Develop, document and validate strategic communications requirements and their operational integration into WHMO facilities.
  • Maintain knowledge of emerging capabilities and emerging technologies.
  • Perform staff coordination and execution in the planning, programming, budgeting, review and analysis.
  • Provide guidance in defining overall information technology (IT) architecture and requirements for future operations.
  • Provide direction and coordination of information systems/information technology implementation within the WHMO geographically-separated facilities inventory.
  • Provide interagency coordination for strategic-level future communications planning and capability development and integration.
  • Proactively engages with Department of Defense (DOD), Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and other key interagency partners in order to shape the future command, control, and communications capabilities development in support of the WHMO mission.

Basic Requirements:

Specialized Experience:

For the GS-14, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-13 if outside the Federal service.

Specialized experience is defined as...Experience providing technical and analytical advice in matters relating to integrating future information technology capabilities into existing infrastructure, and overseeing strategic communications, acquisition, resource management, and future mission planning of information technology operations

Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within the body of their resume. All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.

Additionally, prior to reporting for duty the selectee must be found eligible for a DoD Top Secret security clearance with access to Special Compartmented Information (SCI) based upon an Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI), AND be approved for Presidential Support Duty in accordance with Department of Defense Directive 5210.55 (Yankee White - Category II, minimum).

  • This is an Information Security (INFOSEC) position. In accordance with DoD 8570.1-M, Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program, selectee must meet Information Assurance Certification standards. Selectee must have an approved waiver prior to placement in this position or achieve the appropriate IA certification within six months of assignment of IA duties. Level 3 certification is required prior to being authorized unsupervised privileged access.
  • This is a DISA acquisition workforce DAWIA position in the Information Technology career field. Selectee must be level 3 certified (or eligible for certification within 24 months of appointment) in the Information Technology career field.
  • DAWIA certification is a condition of employment. Failure to fulfill the certification requirement may lead to a non-disciplinary adverse action, which can include dismissal
  • Employee is subject to recall or call back during off-shift hours, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, if required by upper management.
